Relativistic effects in the R-matrix theory of tunnelling

Abstract

A relativistic treatment of some basic concepts of tunnelling is given in terms of an R-matrix theoretical technique. The relativistic corrections are obtained and the nonrelativistic limits of the equations are compared with the results recently derived by Kane.
