2019, Quaternary InternationalCitation Excerpt :In addition warm climate conditions were reconstructed for Late Pleistocene layers, corresponded to MIS5e wer taken from the Mys Karginskyi locality (lower reaches of the Enissey River, Fig. 6, 15). Sand layers contained the remains of the freshwater clam Arctica (=Cyprina) islandica dated by the EPR method to 121.9 ka BP (Katzenberger and Grun, 1986). The occurrence of this species allows the reconstruction of warmer than present climate, because A. islandica inhabits the relatively warm areas of t h e Barents and White seas (Wanamaker et al., 2009; Butler et al., 2013).
