Analytical studies concerned with the reactions between organic peroxides and thioethers

Abstract

By a suitable combination, of methods previously described for the independent determinations of hydroperoxides and sulphoxides it is found that a mixture of these two substances can be satisfactorily analysed for each constituent. It is necessary to divide a given sample into two aliquots, one being analysed for hydroperoxide, the other for the sum total of hydroperoxide and sulphoxide. Modifications necessary when allylic sulphoxides are present are discussed.

Résumé

En combinant les 2 méthodes pour le dosage des hydroperoxydes et le dosage des sulfoxydes, méthodes proposées dans les 2 mémoires précédents, il est possible d'effectuer simultanément l'analyse de ces 2 composés.

On partage l'échantillon à analyser en 2 parties aliquotes, l'une pour l'analyse de l'hydroperoxyde, l'autre pour la détermination totale de l'hydroperoxyde et du sulfoxyde. En présence de sulfoxydes allyliques, il est nécessaire de modifier le dosage.

Zusammenfassung

Indem, man die früher zur Bestimmung der Hydroperoxyde und der Sulfoxyde beschriebenen Methoden kombiniert, kann man in Mischungen dieser beiden Verbindungsgruppen beide Bestandteile in befriedigender Weise analysieren. Man teilt eine gegebene Probe in 2 gleiche Telle und bestimmt in dem einen das Hydroperoxyd, in dem anderen die Summe Hydroperoxyd + Sulfoxyd. In Gegenwart von Sulfoxyden, welche die Allylgruppe enthalten, muss die Méthode abgeändert werden.
