The diffuse reflexions arising from a partially ordered lattice have been computed, for a special case, in terms of a single parameter, the degree of short-range order. In the case of a three-dimensional lattice the results obtained are applicable only in particular cases; in general, the order cannot be defined by a single parameter, and it is necessary to specify the degree of both short- and long-range order.
