Summary
The possibility for direct total assay of ergot alkaloids after separation by thin-layer chromatography is described. The conditions for densitometry on high-performance micro thin-layer plates were determined. Results obtained by conventional TLC, HPTLC, LC and Van Urk colour reaction were compared.
