Eine neue Interpretation der vertikal integrierten Bewegungsgleichungen

Zusammenfassung

Die über die gesamte Atmosphäre gemittelten Bewegungsgleichungen im (x, y, p, t)-System können als Bestimmungsgleichungen für die Schwerpunktfläche, die durch die Schwerpunkthöhen der einzelnen Luftsäulen pro Einheitsquerschnitt gegeben ist, gedeutet werden Weiters wird gezeigt, daß zur Charakterisierung des Zustandes der gesamten Atmosphäre durch den physikalischen Parameter der Schwerpunkthöhe einer Luftsäule die thermische Schichtung der Troposphäre allein nicht ausreicht, sondern die Stratosphäre mit herangezogen werden muß. Die Meso- und Thermosphäre spielen für die Höhe des Schwerpunktes einer Luftsäule der gesamten Atmosphäre keine Rolle.

Summary

The equations of motion averaged over the entire height of the atmosphere, in the (x, y, p, t)-system may be interpreted as equations determining the surface of the centres of gravity of the various columns of air with unit cross-section. The thermal stratification of the troposphere alone is not sufficient for the characterization of the state of the entire atmosphere by the physical parameter of the height of the centre of gravity of this air column, but one has to take into account the stratosphere, too. The mesosphere and the thermosphere do not play any role for the determination of the height of the centre of gravity of an air column.
