On the fine structure of the polychaete epidermis (Annelida)

Abstract

Comparative finestructural studies on the integument of 18 polychaetes belonging to 14 families were conducted. Main differences are to be found in the organisation of the cytoplasm (homogenous or vacuolated) and the occurrence of layers of fibers between the apical microvilli.
