Determination of zinc bacitracine in feeding-stuffs by electrophoresis

Zusammenfassung

Zur Bestimmung von Zink-Bacitracin in Futtermitteln und deren Vormischungen wurde ein Verfahren ausgearbeitet, das auf Gelfiltration und Elektrophorese beruht. Bei der Anwendung auf Handelsproben ergaben sich Wiederfindungsraten von 99,4% bei einem Gesamtfehler von 9,6%. Die Nachweisbarkeit (∼5 ppm) kann durch verlängerte Extraktionszeit nicht verbessert werden. Der Einfluß anderer Bestandteile und der technischen Prozesse wird durch Mikrofiltration verringert. Die relativ lange Analysendauer (48–72 h) ist allerdings von Nachteil.

Summary

For the assay of zinc bacitracine in premixtures and formulated feeding-stuffs, an analytical method including gel filtration and electrophoresis is described. The application of the assay to trade samples proved high recovery rates (99.4%; total error 9.6%). At the same time it was demonstrated that an extension of the extraction time cannot improve the detectability (∼5 ppm). Influences of feed ingredients and technical procedures are diminished by prior microfiltration. However, the comparatively long duration of the analysis (48–72 h) must be regarded as disadvantageous.
