IV. Mass determinations of magnetic thin films

Abstract

The mass determination of magnetic thin films by photometric and polarographic analysis is described. Iron is determinated with 1.10-phenanthroline, nickel with dimethylglyoxime, cobalt with 2-nitroso-1-naphthol, copper with 2,2-biquinoline and manganese-bismuth by polarography in triethanolamine solution. The relative error of the determinations is between 5 to 10%.

Zusammenfassung

Zur Massenbestimmung dünner magnetischer Schichten werden photometrische und polarographische Methoden beschrieben. Eisen wird mit 1,10-Phenanthrolin, Nickel mit Dimethylglyoxim, Kobalt mit 2-Nitroso-1-naphthol, Kupfer mit Cuproin und Mangan-Wismut polarographisch in triäthanolaminhaltiger Lösung bestimmt. Der relative Fehler Hegt zwischen 5–10%.
