Abstract
Several La I transitions were investigated by means of optical interference spectroscopy. AllA-values of the levels of the configuration 5d 6s 6p withJ=9/2, 7/2, and 5/2 were measured. Applying sum rules, the one-electrona-valuea 6s (5d 6s 6p) was derived. It is shown that a promising interpretation of the measuredA-values cannot be done without properly considering core-polarization and configuration interaction with adjacent configurations.
