Zur Adiabasie der Schallausbreitung in Kristallen

Abstract

It is shown that the propagation of sound is an adiabatic process, and that the sound velocities are determined by the adiabatic elastic data and the density in the familiar way. The proof is analogous to that in simple monoatomic gases and takes anharmonic effects fully into account.
