Abstract
The exact wave function for a one-dimensional chain of electrons coupled with squeezed phonons is obtained. The ground state energy and the gap in the electron spectrum are calculated. It is shown that there exists an optimal phonon number n ph≠0 for the ground state of the system. The results are generalized for a system of correlated electrons.
