Abstract
The solid state reaction of thin multilayered Fe−Zr films has been studied by means of Conversion Electron Mössbauer Spectroscopy and Rutherford Backscattering. The results for the samples with the overall composition Fe0.67Zr0.33, Fe0.50Zr0.50 and Fe0.33Zr0.67 reveal the formation of an amorphous phase. The growth of this phase and the crystallization of the intermetallic compound FeZr3 for the rich zirconium sample are discussed.
