Abstract

The stressed state of thin, elastic cylindrical shells intersecting at a right angle and characterized by reduced shear rigidity is considered. S. A. Ambartsumyan's iteration theory is used for deriving the fundamental relationships of cylindrical shells. The problem is solved by using the method of overdetermined collocation. Problem-oriented software which constitutes, together with user's files and records, a software product for investigating the stressed-strained state of the structure of intersecting shells has been developed. The effective convergence of the method and the effect of transverse shear and reduction on the stressed state are considered.
