Abstract
An experimental study has been made of the characteristics of 8 nsec light pulses reflected from fog and smoke of various optical densities. At low densities, the amplitude, phase, and duration of the pulses reflected from the dispersive medium depend significantly on the attenuation coefficient (α) and other optical characteristics of the medium. For α > 0.4 m−1, these dependences are not found for the amplitude or phase.
