Gas-chromatographic characteristics of 2-methyl-2-propenyl alkyl sulfides

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The mass spectra were studied and the retention indices were determined on capillary columns with OV-101 and OV-17 phases under isothermal conditions at 130°C and with temperature programming for eight synthesized alkyl 2-methy1-2-propenyl sulfides.

  2. 2.

Methods are proposed for the calculation of the retention indices of sulfur-containing compounds containing a 2-methyl-2-propenyl substituent. The retention indices for 32 substances (sulfides, disulfides, dithioformals) under isothermal conditions were predicted.

  3. 3.

Equations are proposed for the calculation of the retention indices of the homologous series of n-alkyl 2-methyl-2-propenyl sulfides.
