Conclusions
-
1.
The reaction of nitriles of aliphatic acids with alkylmagnesium halides followed by treatment of the reaction mixture with trimethylchlorosilane forms, depending on the nature of the reactants, either N,N-bis(trimethylsilyl) enamines or trimethylsilylated ketimines or the isomeric enamines.
-
2.
The magnesium derivative of 3-trimethylsilyliminopentane or the isomeric enamine are methylated and silylated at theβ-carbon.
-
3.
We have established the stereochemistry of the N-trimethylsylated enamines by PMR and13C NMR spectroscopy.
