The deformability of porous sintered materials in tension

  • Published:
Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics Aims and scope

Summary

Formulas are derived for evaluating the deformation of porous sintered materials, taking into account the properties of the dense materials, the variation in the number of pores in various specimen cross sections, pore shape, and the loosening of materials during loading. The formulas obtained for the total strain, residual strain after fracture, and the limit of proportionality are compared with experimental data. Good agreement between experimental and calculated data was found.
