Abstract
Generation dynamics of a two-wave CO2 laser with excitation by a continuous electric discharge and with modulation of losses in one of the channels is investigated theoretically and experimentally. It is shown that by changing the frequency and depth of modulation of a variable component of losses and also the relationship between the constant components of losses one can control, over rather wide limits, the shape, duration, and peak power of radiation pulses in the active and passive channels.
