On mapping an irregular boundary by means of reflected-wave measurements

Summary

A method, using seismic data, is presented for the mapping of the irregular boundary of an elastic half-space. It furnishes the shape of the corrugations in terms of the measured displacement field generated by plane dilatational or shear waves reflected from the boundary.
