Abstract
WITH the death on June 2 of Prof. Ernst Freund a great blochemist has passed away. He was a singular scientific personality, whose work did not rest on the results of contemporary research, but always originated from a sudden discovery of new paths of thought. He had been suffering from ill-health for about a year, but he carried on his research work until his death took place in London.
