German agency predicts national climate impacts

Article Type: News From: International Journal of Climate Change Strategies and Management, Volume 1, Issue 1

The German Federal Environment Agency (UBA) has published the most detailed map yet of the predicted effects of global warming in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to the year 2100. The map is 20 times more detailed than similar data produced by the international governmental panel on climate change. It predicts changes in temperature and effects on water tables, forest fires, agricultural production, tourism and nuclear power plant cooling facilities. In a separate report the agency describes national climate emission scenarios between 2000 and 2020. Further details can be seen at: www.umweltdaten.de/publikationen/fpdf-l/3500.pdf
