UK commits to cutting emissions by 80 per cent

The UK Government has pledged to reduce Britain’s greenhouse gas emissions by 80 per cent by 2050. It had previously committed to a 60 per cent reduction target. Climate and Energy Minister Ed Miliband told the Parliament that the government would make its new target legally binding by amending a draft climate law being debated by MPs.
