Quantum field theory of Skyrmions in the (2 + 1)-dimensional CP1/nonlinear σ model

Abstract

A general method of quantization of topological excitations based on the order-disorder duality is applied to the Skyrmions of the CP1/nonlinear σ model in 2 + 1 dimensions. A general formula expressing arbitrary Skyrmion correlation functions as well as an explicit operator realization for the Skyrmion field are obtained. For θ=0, we show that the Skyrmions condense.
