Abstract

Neutron-pair exchange and alpha exchange between two identical colliding cores, S32 in the first case and Si28 in the second case, are correctly described by a generalized Frahn and Venter parametrization of the elastic scattering phase shift. Possibility of a Josephson effect is discussed.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Elastic scattering S34(S32,S32) and Si28(S32,S32); ES32=7797 MeV; θcm=30°150°, Δθ=1°; generalized phase shift analysis: particle exchange between identical cores.
