Abstract
The dependence of the desorption yield for the amino acid valine on the energy of different MeV primary ions has been measured. The primary-ion energies cover a relatively large range with corresponding energy losses between 2 and 55 keV/(μg/). The observed energy dependence can be understood in the framework of a simple macroscopic model.
