Abstract

Expect for very low velocities of incoming particles, ionizing collisions produced by a wide variety of charged particles (electrons, protons, α particles,...) are shown to be treatable by use of the same formalism. Based upon a slight modification to common impulse assumptions, the proposed treatment makes use of the target Compton profile, which further provides a simple method for the normalization of experimental results.
