Abstract
From the Hettangian and Lower Sinemurian of the Utcubamba Valley in Northern Peru 10 ammonite species belonging to the families Psiloceratidae, Schlotheimiidae, and Arietitidae are described. They are compared with European forms. In South America the use of European zone successions is practicable without difficulties.

Se describe 10 especies de amonitas (Hettangiano y Sinemuriano inferior, Valle del río Utcubamba, Depto. Amazonas) que pertenecen de las familias Psiloceratidae, Schlotheimiidae y Arietitidae. Las especies se compara con formas europeas. Las zonas de amonitas colocadas en Europa se reconoce en Suramérica sin dificultades.
Zusammenfassung
Aus dem Hettangium und Unter-Sinemurium des Utcubamba-Tals in Nord-Peru werden 10 Ammoniten-Arten der Familien Psiloceratidae, Schlotheimiidae und Arietitidae beschrieben sowie mit europäischen Formen verglichen. In Europa erarbeitete Zonenfolgen sind in Südamerika ohne Schwierigkeiten erkennbar.
