Abstract

The highly reactive Ti-Mo and Ti-Cb alloys were prepared and heat treated under protective conditions. Phase diagrams were established based on micrographie and X-ray diffraction analysis and detection of incipient melting, β titanium forms a continuous series of solid solutions with both molybdenum and columbium, whereas these metals are only slightly soluble in the α titanium modification.
