Abstract
The charge radius of the pion and charged and neutral kaon is calculated in a coloured quark field theory at the one loop level. The only free parameter is the quark mass ratio. Both theoretical arguments and experimental data favour the interpretation of these quark masses as constitutent and not current ones. The obtained description of the data is good. We conclude with some remarks about the quantitative significance of one loop calculations.
