Summary
For investigations in the range between microwaves and far infrared an apparatus was constructed. tg δ as function of temperature for polymer samples of varying degrees of crystallization and different polar nature was evaluated between 4 °K and 300 °K. The curves: absorption versus temperature confirm the theoretical model by which the absorption is explained as a consequence of one- as well as multi-phonon-processes.
