Haemagglutinating activity of modeccin

Summary

Modeccin, the toxin ofAdenia digitata, agglutinates erythrocytes from several mammalian species. The haemagglutinating activity is enhanced by neuraminidase and is inhibited by galactose and by galactose-containing sugars.
