Abstract

Hylleraas-configuration-interaction (Hy-CI) method variational calculations are reported for the 1S ground state of neutral beryllium. The best nonrelativistic energy obtained was 14.6673564 hartree, which is estimated to be accurate to a tenth of a microhartree.
