Layers are modeled seasonal mean temperature rasters, in the White Mountains of California, at 500 year intervals throughout the latter half of the Holoscene (past 6k years). 50 temperature loggers were used to measure hourly temperatures from October 2014 - September 2015 across complex topography in the White Mountains, CA. The data were aggregated into monthly mean temperatures. Models were built using various topographic variables to predict the monthly temperature values across the entire study area, above 3000 meters above sea level. The monthly temperature raster surfaces were then used to calculate the growing season mean temperature at the site (Seasonal Mean Temperature, SMT). See Bruening, et al. 2017 (doi:10.1088/1748-9326/aa5432) for more details on the seasonal mean temperature calculation and topographic temperature models.
The modeled SMT surface representing October 2014 - September 2015 temperatures was then adjusted to represent SMT's of past climates periods using climate anomalies obtained from the TRACE GCM (see http://www.cgd.ucar.edu/ccr/TraCE/ for more information).
The GIS layers are projected in UTM zone 11, and are ~10m x 10m cell resolution.
