The stability of the earth's core and the geodynamo

Abstract

RECENT work1,2 has indicated that precession fails by at least an order of magnitude to provide the power necessary to drive the geodynamo. It is therefore necessary to consider again thermal convection in the Earth's core, which we do in this paper.
