Abstract
A PRECISE (30″) celestial position for the faint (1.8 µJy, 2–11 keV) X-ray source 4U0241+61 (ref. 1) and its identification at optical and radio wavelengths are reported here. Despite its low galactic latitude (bII = +2.4), the source is extragalactic: a luminous (Mv = −25.8±1.8), low-redshift (z = 0.0438) QSO with relatively intense radio emission (0.2–;0.5 Jy).
