Abstract

Branching ratios for proton and α-particle decay of hole states in 16O have been determined from a 17O(d, tc) coincidence experiment. Total widths have been measured in s supplementary 17O(3He, α)16O experiment. Proton decay of stretched d5/2 · p3/2 states to the p1/2 ground state of 15N is interpreted in terms of a nuclear Auger effect.
