Abstract

BGO counters, 2 × 2 × 20 cm2, were tested in the form of a 3 × 3 array. They were made by non-Czochralski method from raw materials of relatively low grade and they had different optical properties. An energy resolution of 8.2% in fwhm was obtained with BGO counters for 1 GeV electrons and good pion rejection, 10−4, was also obtained by the energy sharing method.
