Abstract

Using the SEDM technique, we have established that the electron hopping time at the octahedral (B) sites in magnetite is zero or less than 10-11 s at room temperature. Electrical conductivity measurements have predicted such a value. In addition, unexpected relaxation effects were observed at the tetrahedral (A) sites.
