Abstract

Via inelastic neutron scattering experiments the phonon densities of states of the spinel compound Li1+xTi2-xO4 have been determined for x = 0 (superconductor), x = 0.15 (semiconductor) and x = 13 (insulator). Pronounced frequency shifts are registered which much closer resemble those found for the HTC cuprates than for “conventional” BCS-materials.
