Pressure dependences of hyperfine fields at impurities in ferromagnetic GdZn host

Abstract

The pressure dependences of hyperfine fields Hi at various 3d and sp impurities in ferromagnetic GdZn have been measured by NMR at 4.2 K. The pressure variation of Hi at55Mn is almost ascribed to that of the conduction electron contribution, while the result for59Co suggests that a local moment is induced by pressure. The values of d ln Hi/d P for sp impurities (Cu, As, In, Sb, Bi) are positive and increase with the impurity valence.
