Abstract

Water contamination has been one of the major causes of epidemiology of microbial diseases in the under-developed and developing countries. Interest has been developed to explore the physical means of purifying drinking water. We have employed a number of physical filters made of Kapton having different porosity in a gadget made of steel to filter water. The filtrate was applied to a nutrient medium and was placed in an incubator for bacteria production. Colonies of bacteria were counted for each filter to asses the effectiveness of the filters.
