Summary

A direct fluorodensitometric method for the quantitative measurement of the dihydroalkaloids of the ergotoxine group, after separation by thin-layer chromatography, is described. The absorption and excitation spectra of dihydroergocristine, dihydroergocornine, and dihydroergocryptine were recorded. The linear range between peak area and concentration is given. Under selected conditions the relative fluoresence, intensities were determined.
