Zusammenfassung

Wasserfreies Eisen(III)sulfat, Fe₂(SO₄)₃, existiert in zwei Modifikationen. Nach Einkristallaufnahmen kristallisiert die eine wahrscheinlich in Raumgruppe$C_{3i}^2 - R\bar 3$ (a_rh=8,791±0,004 Å, α=55°52′±2′; Z=2), die andere in Raumgruppe C ⁵_2h −P2₁/n (a=8,296±0,002 Å, b=8,515±0,002 Å, c=11,60±0,002 Å, β=90°30′; Z=4). Von Cr₂(SO₄)₃ und Ga₂(SO₄)₃ konnten für die rhomboedrischen Modifikationen, die isotyp zu jener von Fe₂(SO₄)₃ sind, aus Pulveraufnahmen die Gitterkonstanten bestimmt werden.

Summary

Anhydrous iron(III)sulfate exists in two modifications. From single-crystal work, one of the modifications crystallizes probably in space group$C_{3i}^2 - R\bar 3$ (a_rh=8.791±0.004 Å, α=55°52′±2′; Z=2), whereas the other in space group C ⁵_2h −P2₁/n (a=8.296±0.002 Å, b=8.515±0.002 Å, c=11.60±0,002 Å, β=90°30′; Z=4). The lattice constants of the rhombohedral modifications of Cr₂(SO₄)₃ and Ga₂(SO₄)₃, which are isomorphous with rhombohedral Fe₂(SO₄)₃, have been determined from powder photographs.
