Differentiation of some isomeric hydrocarbons by registering the metastable ions in a mass spectrometer

Abstract

Some isomeric hydrocarbons with nearly identical mass spectra show significant differences in the spectra of neutral fragments, these spectra being determined by measuring the decompositions of metastable ions.
