The enthalpies of melting of some alkali chloride-lanthanide chloride compounds

Abstract

The enthalpies were determined in a drop-calorimeter. An analysis of the enthalpy values confirmed the existence of the complex speciesLnCl6 3− in the melt.

Zusammenfassung

Die Schmelzenthalpien einiger Verbindungen von Alkalichloriden mit Lanthanidchloriden wurden in einer orientierenden Versuchsreihe kalorimetrisch bestimmt. Aus den gemessenen Werten läßt sich die Existenz einer stabilen komplexen SpeciesLnCl6 3− in der Schmelze folgern.
