Summary

A report is made on a method for so-called “indirect” determination of the erythrocytic Glutamatic-Pyruvic-Transaminase (GPT) enzyme patterns in starch gel. In Schleswig-Holstein in random tests of 1444 unrelated persons the following distribution of gene frequency was found for GPT:GPT 1:0.508; GPT 2:0.4882; GPT 3:0.0035. The evaluation of 499 mother-child pairs showed no deviation from the heredity hypothesis.
