Eimeria polydaedali sp. n. from the Nile monitor, Varanus niloticus

Summary

A new Eimeria sp., E. polydaedali is described from the intestinal contents of two Nile monitors, Varanus niloticus. The sporulated oocysts measure 16.8–25.3 by 15.7–24.0 μ (mean 20.2 by 18.1) and they contain four sporocysts measuring 12–17.3 by 6.7–9.3 μ (mean 15.3 by 8.3).
