The effect of yolk injections on the plumage of an ovariotomised brown leghron hen

Zusammenfassung

Eine braune Leghornpoularde wurde mehreremal mit Eidotter von je einem Ei derselben Rasse abdominal oder subkutan injiziert. Es kamen deutliche Veränderungen der Federfarbe und -gestalt an verschiedenen Körperregionen zum Vorschein, die weiblichen Charakter aufwiesen. Diese Veränderungen führten dabei niemals zu totaler und ständiger Reversion der betreffenden dimorphischen Merkmale, indem sie an verschiedenen Körperstellen verschieden stark auftraten und verschieden lang dauerten. Die Sektion des Vogels ergab keine Spur vom linken, bzw. keine Entwicklung des rechten Ovars.
