Abstract
We show that emission of high-energy electrons and photons in nuclear collisions at intermediate energies is sensitive to the space-time evolution of the reaction. The electron and photon spectra measure related but complementary quantities connected with the nuclear charge distribution. We show that at 60 MeV/u beam energy production of 50 MeV electrons is predicted to measurable probability.

Equation (15) is not an exact solution of (13), because Eq. (13) carries two types of singularities in the complext-plane: one originating from the matrix element, yielding the discussed expression and another originating from the trajectory which allows no elementary solution. The latter expression which might interfere with the evaluated residuum was assumed to be small and neglected. Although we have no mathematical justification for this approximation, a numerical evaluation of (13) suggests the validity of (15)
